Delivery Costs Explained

We get so many phone calls asking about this, we thought it best to produce a page to explain how we calculate our delivery costs and perform the complex delivery procedure.  Hopefully now you will understand the process and feel that we are a transparent company who values our customer service.

Key Points to note:

  1. Some products are not included in the Free Delivery offer due to their weight, fragility or bulkiness.  Basically, couriers charge much more for these types of delivery and we simply cannot afford to offer the free delivery or we would be selling these products at a loss.

  2. The UK is split into postal zones by the courier networks, most postcodes are included in the standard delivery however there are some that are not.  We therefore just add the delivery companies extra costs onto the delivery charge.  You can easily check this by adding your postcode to the shopping cart without having to register.

  3. The cut off for placing an order for Next Day and Saturday deliveries is 11am
  4. Orders under the free delivery cut off will be charged a small delivery cost.

    Elaboration of the Key Points:

    • Point 1

Typically the products that aren't included are chimney pots and heavy duty manhole covers.  We have tried sending some larger chimney pots through parcel delivery companies but with an average breakage rate of 40% we made a decision as a company to send them via pallets, which may cost more, but has reduced the breakage rate to less than 1%.

Keylite Roof windows size 06 and bigger have to be sent via a specialist courier to prevent the breakages.  Our product prices are cheap and the delivery is our cost price.
